How did it all begin? What started you?
As far as me, i've loved magic since i was a kid and always wanted to do card tricks and the impossible act of removing my thumb at age 7. But just because i did little stuff like that i can't say i've been doing magic since i was 7. I started taking it seriously almost 3 years ago. I was watching David Blaine's Fearless dvd because i love magic and i stumbled upon it. It was the first trick where he riffles through the deck and you catch one with your eyes, then changes the wild card into my card. After that moment, my jaw hit the floor. From that moment on, i knew i wanted to devote my attention towards making people feel the same thing i felt as i watched that DVD. I've been obsessed with learning ever since. I'm an eager student. Learning and taking as much in as humanly possible.
Infinitely,
Chris Brown

I would have to say i started having an intrest around age 8, 3rd grade. I believe it was from watching the worlds greatest magic tv special, more specifically lance burton. I don't perform his style of magic, but still it intrests me more than anything. There are no special boxes you can't see inside of or anything like that. Just a few silks, and candles maybe. But all of the serious stuff I am known for i started learning 6-7 mths ago. From seeing particularly David Blaine, as Chis stated above, I wanted to make people do that. I watched him everytime I got the chance, and I prefered enjoying his magic over cris angel's b/c it seemed more possible, not so much mentalism Up until a week ago i never purchased or watched a magic dvd. I was completely self taught, watching videos over and over again looking at all the possible ways to do it, finding the right one and trying to make it look exactly the same as the original performer did. Certain things I did watch cheesy tutorials on, but I never did what they told me, I always dressed it up, tried to make it more original, more interesting.
I am getting better and better everyday, practicing until I am able to sit back and watch myself and be able to keep an intrest in it. To all the young magicians like myself, keep your heads up, even if you dont have support from everyone, there will always be someone near ready to be amazed.

My interest in magic started when I was at the age of 8, when I saw David Copperfield on TV! I was so captivated, I wanted to be like him so bad!
About a year ago, I was watching Cyril Takayama on Youtube, then MadV, then Chris Brown aka Orbit Brown (Yes, the topic starter!)
Since then I got that great feeling from the past and I wanted to do something about it this time, because when I was young, I had to study hard, wasn't allowed to play outside, and when I was a teenager I had to work hard to pay for my study then college.
But now I have the time, so i made an account on Youtube, making some beginners magic, but invented my own 2 tricks!
Ever since, I have been performing to my family, friends and their kids, they love me! I love to see the amazed faces and the smile on their face and joy, and that is the most important thing to me as a magician. Make people happy and entertained.
ORBIT BROWN: Chris made a good impression on me like Cyril did, but Chris is special, because he is so natural and just like you and me, if you know what I mean, so his videos are regular just like ours on YT but yet so amazing, because he is good at what he does and he enjoys it, which makes him special with so much potential!
Chris/Orbit Brown replied to me hours ago after I sent him a message on YT and that's how I found out about this website, and Chris: I am thankful and I am one of your fans bud!
I hope to meet you someday at the top Chris! Keep the magic alive!

I've always liked magic, but didn't really get into it a few months ago.
I suppose "into it" is relative to the person stating the fact. For me "into it" means going to the local magic shop and buying DVDs, books, and special decks so I can do tricks for friends and family. If I do one day decide to try my skills at making money with magic, it won't be anytime soon.
I have always liked watching those specials on television with Copperfield, Cris Angel, Lance Burton, Penn and Teller, and even, sorry folks, those greatest secrets revealed shows. They helped me to understand magic in a different sense, and those secrets revealed shows gave me a greater appreciation for the craft. But I can understand how those magicians on the MGSR shows took money out of the pockets of some really famous and even not so famous magicians.
This time next year I hope to be as into magic as I am now, and alot better at practicing too.
