Back then the big issue was pirating software, so people would build copy protection code to keep people from making illegal copies. So I guess when you say you're a hacker, I say you have nothing to hide. Unless you are using it for malicious purposes such as loading trogans or stealing information for your own financial gain. I assume this is the case since you have told us your real name and admitted to what you do. Who knows, maybe some day you will find that you have already proven to yourself that you are good enough and the thrill will be lost. At that point you can take your knowledge gained and put it to use in a legal way.

I am more of malicious. Kind of like you said, people think certain servers, or boxes can't be hacked. I want to be the first one to root it or put malware on it. Like an worm or and trojan. So my identity is always in danger. Also, you guys may want to fix your php errors on the site.

So since we're talking about real names... howz bout photos? I notice mods have avatars but nobody else does. Am I missing something? How do we post avatars as well?

Tim,

Early on, those in control of the forum decided that only the Moderators and Administrators would have an avitar on the forum posts. Everyone can load an image on their profile, but these do not show up in the forum posts. People can still see your image if they go to your profile.

I'm not sure what drove that decision. It could have been server space, or something else related to the way we do things differently, I'm not sure. It may be a good to suggest that avitars be allowed. I however do not have the control authority to make that happen.

Hi Kipp,

Thanks for the reply.

Since Avatars are such small files I think the bandwidth should not be a problem. Blacks is a new forum and the sooner and better we get to know each other the more likely we'll have interest in continuing the posts and conversations with each other. I think Avatars beside posts would be a huge benefit to this forum. A face goes a long way in making a friendly impression. A post with a face is much more likely to get a response than a text only post.

Please pass this suggestion on to the powers that be and hopefully we'll see avatars added.
