For my next trick I'll expose one of Murrays Tricks. LOL

Seriously... whats up with exposing this effect? Hans Klok did it as well. Actually Pamela Anderson did it in his show and when he says " Wow... how'd you do that?" she actually explains how it works.

Best,

Tim

Maybe Copperfield had the right idea. Make them sign a contract that they will not reveal the trick under penalty of lawsuit (just make it part of the performance rights).

Until we appear again,

Great idea! If everyone did that then we'd have a lot less Valentinos down the road.

Best,

Tim

I saw this a while back, meant to post something but it slipped my mind. I really didn't understand why somebody would do this, for a trick that I believe is pretty decent. I think Murray has gone in a bit of a different direction, almost away from magic it seems. You can find lots of magic he performs, but he has basically become a comedian it seems. I guess he thinks that this is funny,....amazing what people will do for a laugh.

I remember meeting Murray a few years back and thought and still think his CD act was one of the best manip acts I have ever seen. Too bad about this.

Good post Michael,

That's what makes this so sad. Murray seemed to have an original and fresh approach to magic and I thought he'd continue on that way. A purposeful exposure is usually a last ditch attempt at a laugh or audience response.

Best,

Tim

Funny thing, I am currently working a magic festival and sure enough, I see David Merry performing the trick (not exposing it thankfully) and I am sitting with a bunch of other performers watching him (McBride, Kline, Majinx etc) and they all love it. It looks great when you see it without the bad performace followed by the exposure....It's such a great trick that has completely been ruined. It just baffles me....

The Ed Alonzo incident that I know of was the chair suspension with an old lady. I am not sure of it was done purposely or not, I think it was, just my opionion.

You might be able to still find it on YOUTUBE.

Wow, I used to somewhat enjoy Muray's performances until I saw this. A few weeks ago I was even thinking of building something similar but now that the effect is revealed on youtube, everyone and their mother will know about this.

Actually, I may have to make a street variant of the Fastest Trick (with some modifications of course) and see how well it does.
