Embed YouTube clips in your posts
I've added a minor modification to the forum that will let you embed your YouTube videos into your posts.
Check it out. All you need to do is get the id of the video... which is the chunk of text that appears after the '=' in the URL of the YouTube video... for example...
youtube.com/watch?v= 2VQgv2rVHa4
Click the YouTube icon in the toolbar above where you type in your forum post. Two tags will appear, then paste or type that chunk of text in between the two tags. Do a preview of your post to make sure everything worked then submit
I hope this comes in handy for those of you who use YouTube to display your performing skills.
woot woot!

Ok. I've added something else to make this even easier for you. From now on when you are viewing a video from any of the following sites, just cut and paste the full url as it appears in your browsers address bar and the forum will do the rest for you.
Check it out.

Too cool, KayJay!
Is it an app that can convert the video formats, or is it a link-handling utility?
If it's an app, can you pleeeeze tell where WE can get it?
Thanks,

Hello! It's actually a small plugin with the forum software. We use vBulletin, and although it is a commercial application, there are many people out there developing open source addons and plugins for it
vBulletin.org is the developers resource for vBulletin and from there you can find many addons that others have developed for the software.
Hope this helps.
Do you manage an internet community?

Thanks, and so sorry for the lengthy response delay. My 'paying' work is internal to my employer's enterprise networks, so I couldn't say I manage an internet community. Rather, I'm a member/subscriber to over two hundred magic resource sites and forums, and collect magic performance and/or teaching videos. Always on the lookout for the 'master' video format conversion app to consolidate, conserve and maximize storage space. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. THX
