Real Names

Hello,

The fact that we are supposed to use real names and not hide behind secret identities is what drew me to this forum. I notice that some posters who are registered as guests and have not registered with a profile are able to use screen names instead of real names. Is that an oversight or due so some technicality that I am not familiar with? Can someone please update me on this?

Tim,

Here is how that happens. Someone signs up with a alias and starts making a lot of posts. I contact them and ask them for their real name. If they do not respond, their account is deleted. The BBS makes all of their original posts to "guest". Their account no longer exists but their posts do, unless we remove the posts. On the technical side, the threads are left as a way to keep the indexes clean.
