Without creative artists like you, strong integrity based companies like ours would not exist; your success is our success and we'd love to support you in bringing your ideas, concepts, and skills to the market. So with that in mind we'd like to share our submission guidelines with you.

submission | in strictest confidence

The first thing to note is this: whatever you submit to us is done so in the strictest confidence. We'd never disrespect you and your efforts by sharing it with third parties.

the highest standards | bring your a-game

We can't possibly accept every effect that is sent our way. We get tons of emails and more submissions than any one company could ever produce in a lifetime. Some are great. Others not so much. We have very high expectations, standards, and will only accept the best. We're sure that's you. But you have to come to us with your "A" game, or wait to submit your ideas to us until they are more mature and developed. If you want us to produce your double-lift, you can assume we're going to respectfully pass and look to someone else. But if you come to us with something dynamic, exciting, visual, unique, and different, you're going to get our attention pretty quick like.

industry leaders | real world experience

Other companies pretend that they understand business by slapping on titles like "CEO" and "President" in an effort to attract artists and appear to be something they aren't, but at the end of the day they often over promise and grossly under deliver because their business acumen is a bigger illusion than the magic they produce. With Black's Magic, you'll get a group of experienced business professionals who not only understand the art of magic, but who intimately understand what it truly takes to be successful for the long haul, not just for the moment. All the flash and dazzle in the world won't help you if don't experientially, practically, and academically understand business. Black's Magic is the only company in the magic industry to be founded and operated by business professionals with high level credentials and real-world corporate experience that is both documented and verifiable.

Anyone who tells you that it's just quality that matters has a very narrow and myopic view of magic, and more importantly, business. The magic industry is far too small for a singular product or project to provide you long term financial rewards that will allow you to live the lifestyle you've always wanted. While quality is paramount and certainly contributes to the bottom line, it's a myth that one product will make you rich, bring you untold fame, and that you'll instantly become a house-hold name. Can it happen, sure. Does it happen, not often. We want you to know up front that success is a long term strategy that starts with your personality, integrity, and honor as a person, and then follows forward with your skills as an artist. Long term success in this industry means you have to become prolific, dedicated, driven, and willing to work hard and smart. If you're looking for easy street, we can't help you. If you're driven by an ego, then we can't help you. Sorry. With that in mind, if you're new to the industry, we'd respectfully ask you to look deep inside yourself and determine what it is that is driving you to release your effect. With reasonable and realistic expectations in hand, we can help you reach your goals. That must be our starting point.

Many companies guarantee that they will listen to you, but really couldn't care less about what you think or about you as an artist, let alone as a person. Once they have your trick, that's pretty much it. What Black's Magic represents to you is an opportunity to work hand-in-hand with a team of artists and business professionals who care more about you than the bottom line. With us, you're a part of the family and we like it that way; your views, ideas, and dreams matter to us. If you're a team player, then we'll do everything we can to help you reach your goals in magic. If you show up, work hard, are respectful, and have integrity, you're already ahead of the game.

Setting the standard in any industry is a lofty goal, but Black's Magic has been doing it step-by-step since we started only a few years ago. With hard hitting instructional releases and foundation shaking ventures like Street Magic Magazine, television programs, and cross-marketing business alliances, we've garnered the attention and respect of some of the top performers and professional entertainers in the world, as well as industry leaders in other business sectors that nobody in magic has ever partnered with. Few companies understand, let alone take action towards, expanding magic as an art form. One of the problems with the magic community is the ever-increasing "generation gap" that keeps sectors of our industry separate and often at odds with one another, and we're working to eliminate that. We work with, recruit, and support magicians of all ages and backgrounds regardless of their particular focus or artistic direction. Street Magic, stage illusions, close-up, flourishing, corporate magic, mentalism, and tons of other categories and disciplines not only interest us, but excite us. We're always interested in working with seasoned professionals and budding up-comers alike; don't be afraid to talk to us and see if there is a way for us to support you too. To us, if you love magic and want to see it respectfully grow and blossom as an art, then you're the kind of person we love to work with. The point is, it doesn't matter what kind of magic you do, how old you are (you could be 8 or 80), where you come from, or what your background is. If you're creative and have something to share, do so.

Magic is the art of making the impossible possible. We're looking for just that. Whether you use a deck of cards, coins, or figured out a way to make the Space Shuttle vanish, we're interested. No trick is too strange, too crazy, or too big to be considered. Because of our connections in this industry and in the television/film worlds, we are privy to opportunities for the spectacular, as much as we are the cool things you can do to amaze one person at a dinner party that positively impacts them through the experience. We're looking for things that are visual, cool, and make people's heads spin. If you show it to us and we leap out of our chair totally and utterly confused as to how it was done, you've not only grabbed our attention, but we'll do anything we can to help you get it out to the magic world. Don't try to baffle us with BS, amaze us with ingenuity. Slam us and rock our foundations. You can do it! We're truly rooting for you.
